The Midiri Brothers Orchestra - Fingerbustin'

Talk about a swinging album. This music cooks from beginning to end. Though I don't get the opportunity to review music of this style, it's always a pleasure to hear the lighter side of musical expertise. All of the music has a feel good aura about it that can't be found anywhere in today's music. Even the sad songs have a happy quality to them. The thing about this album that I found so impressive was the speed and accuracy of Joe Midiri's clarinet playing. “Finger Bustin'” is a perfect title for this collection of compositions. This is great music that I'm sure will take folks back to a time and place when Benny Goodman and Jimmy Dorsey ruled the stage and performance was what separated the pro's from the amateurs. This is one of those CD's that I found to be a pure pleasure to review.
